New Friday ritual: go to The Global Bean, sip fantastic chai tea latte, enjoy live music, and kick some ass with Scrabble. Tonight’s post is late because I stayed longer than I anticipated chatting it up with Lee, Austin, and the awesome band that played tonight, Robert Jon (band tonight = Robert, Andrew, Ben, and Chad, I hope I got that right). Hope he doesn’t mind me posting this picture (he can’t really say anything about it right now so harhar).
I think I’ve found a nice little ongoing project while editing this photo. I’m going to try and make portraits with a similar style for all my contact’s caller ID photos. So if you’re being chased by me with my camera, I’m not trying to collect your overdue pimp money, I just want to take a picture.

The best $1.99 I’ve ever spent is QuadCamera. It’s just an app that takes sequences of pictures that I could technically take myself and put together in the same style with Photoshop, but, dude, it does it for you.

I took my D90/50mm (and in one shot, the Sigma 10-20mm) out in some real low light shooting using either low ISO (200)/speedlight/f4 or high ISO (3200)/f1.8. As expected there was a bit of grain in the high ISO shots, but it’s tolerable for little snapshots that will be resized down. A little something I like to do with grainy shots: b&w - it gives it character (or at least that’s my excuse).

It’s been a while since I’ve been to the airport to travel. I’ve forgot how fun it is! You know, paying $40 for 4 bagels and a bag of chips, waiting in line, fighting over your spot in line, and catching people staring at your awesome boxes, all very fun activities outside an airport, but inside, oh, boy, Mickey Mouse who?!
In all seriousness, I’m going to miss the US and my routine. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I’m breaking the routine temporarily, but I’m the type of person that needs structure in her life to keep mentally sound.
